Some bastard just robbed and raped your wife. You chase him down, and in your hand is a 9mm pointed to his head. Do you shoot him? A. You know it's against the law to shoot him, and if you do, you will go to jail. Your wife was JUST raped and robbed, and now she has to deal with more frustration because you shot the guy, and your A$$ is going to that rapist's 300-pound buddy in the slammer. B. You don't shoot him, and let the cops handle him. He'll probably be let loose again within the next couple of months, and he'll have your face fresh on his mind. Once he's through with you, he'll continue his merry life doing what he does best. Not only has he harmed your wife, you can't sleep because you don't know what'll be lurking in your backyard. Point is, you can shoot him. You can do whatever you want, but the laws are there for a purpose. Someone (that someone being your fellow lawmakers and voters) put that law there. Whether it is wrong or right, we all have the choice to follow it or not. But just remember that there are consequences. Don't go ranting about how you hate this law or that law, or how this country was founded. If someone becomes the little angel on your shoulder who whispers to you trying to remind you what's right and what's wrong, don't argue. Just make the decision and move on. When you asked the question, your decision was already made. Stop kidding yourself.
